Hi, it’s Sue.
Here are some random facts about me.
I have 2 beautiful boys who are 5 and 4 years old.
I have 7 pet hens named Sage, Snowy, Blackie, Fire, Chewy, Leo, and Mega Black (yes, the kids named them).
I have the personal hobbies of an old grandmother: knitting, sewing, gardening, walking, and listening to podcasts instead of the news.
My guilty snack is salt and vinegar chips with cayenne pepper and garlic powder.
My Credentials
I graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor of science degree in biology. I am a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) from Meridian Community College with over five years of experience.
This education has equipped me with an in-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the biomechanics of the human body, all of which are fundamental to your health and fitness goals.
I’ve spent countless hours helping patients recover from injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions. This experience has given me valuable insights into the importance of exercise, rehabilitation, and overall wellness.
What is the Difference Between a PT and a PTA?
The most common question I am asked is the difference between a physical therapist (PT) and a physical therapist assistant (PTAs).
- Physical Therapist (PT): PTs are licensed healthcare professionals responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and developing comprehensive treatment plans for patients. They make clinical judgments, establish goals, and oversee rehabilitation.
- Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA): PTAs work under the supervision and guidance of PTs. They assist in implementing the treatment plans, including conducting exercises and therapies, educating patients, and monitoring progress.
PTAs are the ones who work directly with the patients and execute the treatment (under the supervision of the PT). We are the ones who are constructing the exercise program to ensure the patients meet their goals.
With that wealth of knowledge, I want to share what exercises I would recommend for my patients and what has worked and what hasn’t.
How I Got Started With Blogging
All my life, I’ve followed the path laid out for me—going to school and getting a job. It wasn’t until I became a stay-at-home mom that I finally had the time to reflect on my true passions. I discovered my love for personal development, holistic health, and fitness. I believe that when we are at our best, we can give our best to those we love. Allow me to share my knowledge and please consider joining the group so we can all encourage each other.
I have a medical background, but please note that I am not certified to treat or give personal medical advice. Please refer to the disclaimer, terms and conditions, and privacy act.
